Each of the books in the Field Trip Mysteries series from Capstone is written by Steve Brezenoff. Join the group of four 6th graders as they deal with bullies, complicated friendships, and solve mysteries! The four titles in this series are each told from the perspective of a different one of the foursome. Each book is well researched to include not only factual information about each park, but also a current challenge the park faces - be it gas drilling, claims from other groups, poaching, or modernization. These are especially great books to read before or during a trip to the park. Each book includes a short glossary, a report on the place written by the hero(ine) of the story, writing prompts about the park, and more prompts for writing about experiences like the ones in the story. Each of these chapter books is illustrated and about 80 pages long.
